A family-run winery on a human scale

The Château du Broustaret is not just a guest house : it is also a small wine estate, where our family has been producing a full-bodied and subtle red wine typical of the Bordeaux region for several decades. From the windows of the Cuphea and Mimosa rooms, you can admire the view of our Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon vines.
The wine is produced by our parents, Cécile and Jean-Christophe, who previously ran the guest rooms and live next to the winery, a few hundred metres from the house. Depending on their availability, they will be delighted to welcome you for a chat about wine and, if you wish, a tasting.
The vineyards of Château du Broustaret
The Château du Broustaret is located on a small 8-hectare vineyard, right next to the guest rooms.
We grow Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, which we blend to create our wines. We enjoy an ideal location : the hillside is well exposed, which prevents the spread of disease and often protects us from the severe late spring frosts that are characteristic of the region.
The layout of our vineyards is typical of our wine-growing region. Also known as ‘La Toscane Girondine’ (Tuscany of Gironde), it is noticeable by its unique landscape of rolling hills covered with vines, reminiscent of the beauty of the Tuscan countryside.

The different wine ranges of Château du Broustaret
Like Olympic medals, our wine comes in several unique blends, carefully crafted at Broustaret. From the classic cuvée to the special cuvée, including the barrel-aged cuvée, we will be delighted to guide you through their tasting.
The 2016 Cuvée Classique, a light and fruity wine
Like all our wines, this one is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown on the estate. However, it stands out for its lightness and fruity taste, which come from the fact that it is mainly composed of Merlot grapes.
Its notes of ripe fruit, toast and cinnamon make it a refined and balanced wine, pleasant to drink on any occasion.
It pairs particularly well with white meats, cold cuts, and mild cheeses.

The 2016 Barrique Cuvée : a full-bodied wine with a powerful flavour
This woody wine is the result of a blend created by Jean-Christophe Brunet, with a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon.
It stands out for its notes of ripe fruit (blackcurrant, blackberries) and toast. It is a delicious wine with a beautiful structure, typical of what one would expect from a red wine from our region.
It pairs perfectly with red meats, cheeses, or dishes with character.

The 2016 Cuvée Cécile : a blend of our finest barrels, for a subtle yet powerful taste.
This blend, made mainly from Cabernet Sauvignon, is the result of a selection from our best barrels. Like all our special vintages, it bears the name of a member of the family : in this case, Cécile!
This is a round and complex wine with aromas of red fruits (cherry) as well as almond and stone fruit. Its smoky notes contribute to making it a rich and full-bodied wine.
To enjoy it, feel free to drink it with red meat, dishes with sauce, and fine cheeses.

Fancy a tasting during your stay ?
Throughout the year, we will be delighted to welcome you free of charge by appointment, either alone or with your family, friends or colleagues, for a tasting of the wine we produce at Château du Broustaret.
During this special event, we will share our tips and tricks for learning how to recognise the flavours of a Bordeaux red wine and pair it with dishes that will bring out its best qualities.
This is a friendly occasion during which you can ask us any questions you may have about vine cultivation and winemaking.
You will discover our vintages currently on sale, and can purchase some bottles to take home with you after the tasting if you wish.
If you would like to enjoy a wine tasting during your stay at our guest house, please let us know when you arrive. We will do our utmost to organise a special tasting session, depending on Cécile and Jean-Christophe’s availability and yours !
The tastings are offered by Cécile and Jean-Christophe, our parents, who produce the wine at Château du Broustaret. These are only available in French.
